Performance Plus Consultants is pleased to announce that a corporate donation was made to the Heartland Tree Alliance to offset the carbon footprint created by company president Dick Verbeek CPIM CIRM CSCP at the 2008 APICS International conference. Mr. Verbeek's participation at the conference as a featured speaker generated an estimated carbon footprint of 0.9 tCO2. This was caused primarily by air travel to the conference and hotel accommodations in Kansas City. The planting of new trees is one of the easiest methods individuals can sponsor to offset their personal carbon footprint.
"Whenever I attend a conference we try to
find a local organization that specializes in tree planting. The
Heartland Tree Alliance has been serving the greater Kansas City
metropolitan area since 2004. Its vision Healthier
communities through healthy trees is very consistent

will assist the Alliance achieve their community goals while
